Why I decided to study instructional design?
During my time as an education specailist, the unexpected COVID-19 pandemic brought about a worldwide shift towards online learning. This period made me realize that not all online courses provide meaningful learning opportunities unless they are grounded in instructional theory. As a result, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in instructional design with the aim of improving the learning experiences of others. My goal is to create effective and engaging instructional materials, courses, and programs that facilitate optimal learning outcomes.
I believe that instructional design allows individuals to harness their creativity and problem-solving skills. By designing instructional strategies and utilizing various multimedia tools, we can think critically and innovate to enhance the learning process.
Furthermore, my background as a program manager has equipped me with numerous skills that are essential for instructional designers. Finally, the field of instructional design offers a fulfilling career path that combines creativity, the ability to make a positive difference, and continuous opportunities for professional development.
